About
I am an Associate Professor in the School of Teaching, Learning & Development. I am a psychometrician and carry out research into the social psychology of teacher and student beliefs about assessment. Cross-cultural research permits investigation into the impact of policy, ethnicity, culture, and language upon the structure of and relations of these beliefs to behaviour and learning. I have been involved in comparative studies with colleagues in Cyprus, Spain, Queensland, Hong Kong, and China.
Previously I was a test developer for the NZCER (www.nzcer.org.nz) and the asTTle project (www.asttle.org.nz) at the University of Auckland.
