About
I have a range of interests, both theoretical and methodological, I am recognised as an international expert in four interrelated areas of research, and currently lead several research teams, each engaged in a number of research projects:
1. Geoarchaeology and chronology of the Australian Arid Zone: Human/palaeoenvironment interaction in western NSW and far north Cape York. Projects use computer aided data entry systems, GIS and the innovative use of radiocarbon and optically stimulated luminescence to age surface archaeological deposits. Team members from Macquarie University, ANU and Rio Tinto.
2. Time perspectivism: An analysis of the theoretical basis for the ontology of the archaeological record. Colleagues from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and La Trobe University, Australia.
3. The early Neolithic in Egypt. Analysis of surface archaeological sites in the Fayum region of Egypt. Colleagues from UCLA.
4. Stone artefact analysis. The theory and method of flaked stone analysis.
